150 in 5 Winner and Update

Congratulations Amy Lankheit!! You won three necklaces – one for you and two to share with friends! Thank you so much for supporting our adoption!

The 150 in 5 push was amazing! Our goal for this sale was to raise enough money to pay our next agency fee of $3000. While we only sold 54 necklaces (only?! I am BLOWN AWAY by that number!!), we got some AMAZING donations that got us within about $200 of our goal!!!

Y’all God is SO amazing!! I knew when I set this goal that it would be insane to try and make 150 necklaces, but I knew if it was what we needed to do, we could. God totally took care of us!

I want to thank each one of you who made a donation, purchased a necklace (or 2!), and shared our story on social media. We could not do this without you!

Day 2 Update!

We are two days into our 150 in 5!

150 in 5

So far we’ve sold 30 necklaces!!! I am so overwhelmed with the outpouring of love we’ve seen.

We still have a little ways to go on our goal, but we have three days left! Please consider following us on facebook and sharing our blog, shop, and facebook page with your friends and family!

Thanks for all of your support! And make sure you enter the giveaway! I am so excited to give someone three necklaces so that they can bless two people in their lives!

When God placed this adoption on our hearts, we knew he would have to move big mountains for it to be a reality for our family. And then we saw Nathanael’s face and we knew we would do whatever it took to bring him home.

We’ve already paid quite a few fees for this adoption, but we are faced with another large one very soon. I’ve been spending lots of time in prayer about this and God placed a big goal and dream on my heart. He challenged me with 150 in 5. Yes, you read that right. He has given me the goal and dream to sell 150 necklaces in just 5 days. This seems crazy to me, but I’ve learned that when my dreams seem unrealistic and crazy, God shows up. So here we go.

For the next 5 days, all current designs in the shop are $20 (including monograms) plus shipping if required. If you would like a custom design, I am happy to do that as well. Those custom designs will be $25 plus shipping if required.

And I have a little incentive for you! I’m giving away three necklaces, one for you and two for your friends! Yes, that’s right, one person will win all three necklaces! How do you enter? There are three ways:

1. 5 entries for each necklace purchased

2. 3 entries for referring a friend who makes a purchase (make sure you tell them to mention your name when they order)

3. 1 entry for sharing on any form of social media (make sure to leave me a comment here or on facebook with the details of your share). One entry per form of social media per day.

Winner will be announced on Monday June 9th!

How can you order? Of course you can order through the etsy shop, but you can also order directly from me. Leave me a comment here, send me a message on facebook, or email me at landedesignco@gmail.com.

I am so pumped to see what God does this week!!

Newest Designs

I’ve been very busy lately making necklaces thanks to some great friends and a Mother’s Day special I offered. Here are just a few of my most recent orders. If you would like to order, send me an email or check out the etsy shop. Custom orders are welcome!

God is placing a big (scary!) dream on my heart for this little shop. Look for details to come soon!!

The story of Nathanael

Many of you know that after we had Lilliana in 2007 we decided to adopt our second child. We began the process to adopt from Ethiopia and were in that program for almost three years. Due to some changes in the adoption program, our timeline went from 9-12 months to almost 3 years overnight. We knew we still wanted to have another biological child so we decided to leave it in God’s hands about which child would join our family next. Two months later we got pregnant with Emmalyn and had to make the heartbreaking decision to leave the Ethiopian adoption program.

Just a few days after Emmalyn was born we found out that she is deaf. While this was difficult news to hear, we were so glad that our precious baby didn’t have a life-threatening issue. We are blessed to live in a time with many opportunities for deaf children. We have spent the last two years at many doctors appointments and in many speech therapy sessions.

A few months ago we realized we were ready to think about having another child. We decided that now was the time to adopt. And because of our experience with Emmalyn, our hearts were open to a child with special needs. I began checking listings of children in China that were considered to be “special focus.” This means that they are considered to be difficult to place because of their special need or their age. One night I stumbled across a photo of a gorgeous little boy who was listed as deaf. I requested to review his file and within a couple of days (full of prayer!) we knew he was our son!

We quickly filled out a lot of paperwork and requested a PA from China. A PA is a pre-approval to adopt our son and be matched to him. We received that PA a few weeks ago. We have just completed our homestudy and are working on submitting our dossier. Now we are on the journey to bring him home. We cannot wait to meet our son and introduce him to his sisters and to his extended family!

Check back here for updates on our adoption and for info on ways to help bring Nathanael home. Right now we would simply ask for prayer that the process would go smoothly and that Nathanael’s heart would be prepared to join our family. We love you all and thank you so much for your support.
